Spend Your Weekend at One of These Upcoming Penn’s Landing Events

Looking for a way to get outside and enjoy the warm spring weather? Make your way down to the Delaware River Waterfront where there’s always a fun Penn’s Landing event going on. Penn’s Landing events are a great way to enjoy the weekend with your family and friends. The best part? All of these Penn’s Landing events are free! Below are three awesome Penn’s Landing events that are happening in the coming weeks. Break out your warm-weather clothes, grab a friend, and get ready to have a good time!

Univestal Opening Weekend Festival

When is it? Friday, May 12th through Sunday, May 14th from 11:00 am to 1:00 am.

Where is it? Spruce Street Harbor Park.

What is it? Sponsored by the Univest Bank and Trust Co, this Penn’s Landing event kicks off the Spruce Street Harbor Park season with three days of fun activities and live music. On all three days, you can expect the park to be buzzing with activities like Clay Studios’ clay animation, chances to win cash and prizes in the Univest money booth, aerial routines, tightrope performances, and even a magic show! Every evening at this Penn’s Landing event there’s live concerts featuring musical acts like local DJ King Britt and steel drum group Trinidelphia. The first annual Univest Festival is a great Penn’s landing event for the whole family to enjoy.

Free Yoga at Race Street Pier

When is it? Monday-Friday at 7:00 am, Monday-Thursday at 6:30 pm, and Saturday-Sunday at 9:30 am starting April 10th.

Where is it? Race Street Pier.

What is it? This popular Penn’s Landing event starts back up again on April 10th, giving you a chance to catch up on the exercise and mindfulness you’ve been avoiding during winter hibernation. At this Penn’s Landing event, you can enjoy a free yoga class with the beautiful background of the Delaware river waterfront. When the class is over, you can walk to the nearby Waterfront Gourmet Cafe and have a relaxing herbal tea to keep you zen the rest of the day. This is one of the best Penn’s landing events for those with busy schedules or tight budgets. These classes are offered every weekday once in the morning and again in the evening, and on weekend mornings. It’s a great way to start or end your day with a Penn’s Landing event by the gorgeous Race Street Pier.

Explore & Play at Pier 68

When is it? Sunday, May 21st from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Where is it? Pier 68.

What is it?  Do you feel like you’ve been stuck in the city’s concrete jungle for a little too long? If so, come explore the wonderful nature that the city and the river have to offer at this Penn’s Landing event. The Natural Lands Trust staff and volunteers will take you on an urban adventure that includes hands-on activities to help you learn about the nature around you. This is a family-friendly Penn’s Landing event that you can bring the kids to, or just enjoy your inner child while taking in the views of the city skyline from the pier. You have to register beforehand, but like most Penn’s landing events, Explore & Play at Pier 68 is completely free!
There’s no better way to enjoy the warm weather and experience all the city has to offer than attending one of these awesome Penn’s landing events.
